IIFT 2012@ IIFT 2012 entrance exam to be held on Nov 25; Application ends of Sept 3

Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) has announced the MBA entrance exam for the academic year 2013-15 for the admission of the flagship MBA (International Business) program in its Delhi and Kolkata campuses. The IIFT 2012 exam will be held on Sunday, November 25, 2012.

The selection of the students will be based on the performance in Written Test, Group Discussion, Essay Writing and Interview. The duration of the exam is two hours, and will be held from 10 am to 12 noon. The IIFT 2012 exam will be held in 12 cities across India.

Eligibility

The candidates should have a recognized Bachelor’s Degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline. Candidates in their final year of graduation can also apply subject to submission of proof of requisite qualification by October 7, 2013.

Last Date of obtaining prospectus through post: Monday, August 20, 2012

Last date to obtain prospectus through IIFT counter: Monday, September 3, 2012

Last date for receipt of applications: Monday, September 3, 2012

Test Cities

The 20 cities in which the IIFT 2012 would be conducted are Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Dehradun, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur and Visakhapatnam.

Last year, IIFT 2011 exam was conducted on Sunday, November 27, 2011. This year too, IIFT has followed the set timeline, which is the fourth Sunday of November. The Essay Writing, Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds would be conducted for the shortlisted candidates in Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow and Mumbai.

IIFT Pattern

IIFT entrance exam pattern changes every year. Last year, there were 120 questions divided into six sections, Quantitative Ability, Reading Comprehension, English Usage, Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning and General Awareness. Each question had four options and the extent of the negative marking was 1/3rd of the marks allotted to the question. The overall difficulty level was moderate.
